It was an honor to have Tim Farmer and his film crew at the Cooking School filming for an upcoming segment on Tim Farmer’s Country Kitchen. We were excited to share some of our Appalachian recipes with him.

Apple Cake, A Real Crowd Pleaser

Today we celebrate Father’s Day with an Apple Cake. This recipe is simple but always yields a delicious moist cake. It’s a crowd pleaser in our family! You’ve got to try it. We will feature this Apple Cake in our store once we open.

We Built a School

We’ve made some progress this week. When entering the store, we designed and constructed an old one-room schoolhouse where our cooking classes will take place. We love the way it turned out! Our black bears will be happy to great you.

Landscaping

We have a great crew working in our gardens at the store this week. We’re sprucing things up around the property in anticipation of your upcoming visit. We hope to see you soon!

Smokin’

Since it was ’smokin’ hot outside yesterday, we decided to fire up one of the smokers in the smokehouse. This beef brisket was so delicious! We’re looking forward to serving up some great food in our cafe when we open sometime in mid July.
